About

Prerequisite: None

For Massage Therapists and absolute beginners and fans of massage.

Chi Nei Tsang is used in Asian hospitals to eliminate the need for surgery.

During this course, you learn how to deblock and detox the internal organs like the liver, small intestines, pancreas, colon, kidneys, stomach, duodenum, ureter, gall bladder, spleen etc.

Also to release tensions in such important muscles like psoas.

The abdominal area is related to all our emotions: having a healthy and balanced abdomen will be crucial to be emotionally stable!

As an art and science, Chi Nei Tsang complements Reflexology (Foot, Hand, etc), Psychology, Reiki, Shiatsu, Traditional Thai Massage, Swedish massage and other similar therapies. Unlike most practices which use indirect methods to contact the internal organs Chi Nei Tsang directly massages the internal organs. It is particularly useful in relieving: Intestinal blockages, cramps, knots, lumps, scar tissue, headaches, menstrual cramps, poor blood circulation, back pain, infertility, impotence and many other problems. Chi Nei Tsang clears out the toxins, bad emotions and excessive heat or head deficiencies that cause the organs to dysfunction. Along with other disciplines, Chi Nei Tsang may help to eliminate the need for surgery. Chi Nei Tsang is concerned with how to maintain the body system to live a full, healthy, and extended life. The Ancient Taoist were especially adept at knowing how to stay healthy. It is the Taoists believe that one-day masses of woman and men will again discover they have the ability to live greatly extended... [-]

Sigmund Freud demonstrated, in creating the psychoanalytic doctrine, that all our behaviors, feelings and ways of relating to one another are determined by unconscious motivations unknown to ourselves, though not less powerful. Such motivations refer to the history of a subject, a story that is not expressed as a past chronologically "surpassed" but as a here and now in permanent repetition. The links that make us speaking beings, the history of which a person comes points, as a structure, a destiny for the subject.... [-]

Infection, Neurobiology, and Genetics

The separate courses include lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory work.

Immunology covers the organization and development of the immune system, its activation upon stimulation, the various effector mechanisms involved in the innate and adaptive immune responses (cellular and humoral immunity), immunological memory, tolerance mechanisms, transplantation immunology, autoimmunity, hypersensitivity, immune deficiencies, and the defense mechanisms against different pathogens.

The Bacterial Physiology and Pathogenesis course will highlight the intriguing world of bacteria. It will give insight into the bacterial diversity and some of their distinctive habitats. It will illustrate in molecular detail the regulatory mechanisms of microbial adaptation to these varied environments. It will discuss the role of horizontal gene transfer in bacterial evolution and the acquisition of new coding potential, such as antibiotic resistance. The course will present the current state of knowledge regarding pathogenic mechanisms and the major disease-causing bacteria that use them. This will include an explanation at the molecular level of various pathogenic strategies such as motility, biofilms, quorum sensing, secretion systems, toxins, adhesion factors and immune evasion mechanisms. In the face of widespread antibiotic resistance among leading bacterial pathogens, new anti-bacterial treatment and prevention options will also be addressed. The Neurobiology course gives the student extended knowledge about how the nervous system is organized, and how it functions in order to change physiological state of neuronal circuits which underlies the generation of behavior. Thus, the nervous system is explored at molecular, cellular, systems and behavioral levels. The Genetics course aims to provide knowledge... [-]
