Introduction
The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) program at Saint Joseph’s College offers students the opportunity to learn the knowledge and skills to be a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant and participate in hands-on and relevant learning. Before students are sent out for their clinical experiences, we replicate real-life situations in our medical lab; this allows our students to practice and perfect their learning and skills.
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant usually work in hospitals, health clinics, physician and specialist offices, and outpatient facilities. Having a specialized skill set and knowledge for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant is vital in the high demand area of today’s health career profession. Certified Clinical Medical Assistant will do various tasks such as administering medications, assisting with minor procedures, obtaining laboratory specimens, providing patient education, etc. Clinical medical assistants are a vital member of a health-care team. Becoming a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant ensures a career in a high paced, exciting environment. Upon completion of the course, students will be eligible to sit for their Certified Clinical Medical Assistant national certification. The certification is through the National Health careers Association; the exam fee is included in the registration fee.
