As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be a valued and essential member of Ontario’s healthcare team, working under the direction and supervision of pharmacists.

Program Highlights

Pharmacy technicians work very closely with pharmacists to achieve optimal drug therapy outcomes for patients. The pharmacy technician's role requires them to focus on the technical aspect of the prescription, perform med reconciliation by collecting the best possible medication history from patients, perform product preparation and distribution functions as well as inventory control. As a registered pharmacy technician, graduates will participate in health promotion activities and provide education such as medical device training or coordination of health clinic days. Pharmacy technicians work in collaboration with the pharmacy team and other health professionals to ensure continuity of care. Join this growing field of regulated healthcare professionals in the pharmaceutical industry. As of December 2010, pharmacy technicians are able to register with the Ontario College of Pharmacists and eligible to use the RPhT (Registered Pharmacy Technician) designation. Fleming College’s Pharmacy Technician program has been awarded the status of Full Accreditation by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs for a five-year term, January 1st, 2015 to December 31st, 2019.
